  Binzhou City I. Facts about Binzhou Located at the joint of the Bohai economic zone and the Yellow River Economic Delta, Binzhou City is also the connecting points which link Beijing, Tianjin and Tangshan economic areas and Shandong Peninsula; it is also the geographical axis of the 2,500 kilometer winding coastline around Bohai Sea. It is the main region in developing and constructing Yellow River Delta and “Shandong on the Sea”, and the main oil-producing area of the ShengLi Oilfield Corp. as well, which is the second largest oilfield in China. Binzhou is well known as the communication center of the northern part of China and the hub of five provinces, it has a convenient transportation system. Yellow River Highway Bridge plays a very important role in linking up Jiangsu Province, Shandong Province, Beijing and Tianjin. The National Road 205 runs through from its north part to its south part while National Road 220 from its east part to its west part. And the network of the local communication extends in all directions. Jinan-Qingdao Expressway goes through its south, connected with Binzhou and Boshan expressway an advanced highway frame has come into being. Jiaozhou-Jinan railroad runs through its south part with a branch railroad expanding into the center of the city. The planned Huangda railroad will go through its center which will constitute the main traffic artery in the north part of Shandong Province. The Huanghua Port with the cargo-handled capacity of 100,000 tons is under construction at the northern gate of the city, and separated only by a river with Wudi. At present, it is two hours’ driving to Jinan airport, one hour and a half to Huanghua Port, three hours to Qingdao, a port city, and one day round trip to Beijing. II. Administrative Division III. Infrastructure The power plants over 500kw can generate a total capacity of
257,500kw. And the voltage transformers over 35kv can transform
the total volume of 1.79myria volt, with 1,524.2 kilometers long,
35kv plus transmission line. The urban area covers 66.48 sq. km. with 334 kilometers long
urban roads. The average road area per person is 11.2 sq.meters.
And the urban green-belt area is 370 hectares that makes up 31.7%
of the vegetation coverage and 26% of the grass coverage. The
public green area is 9.87 sq. meters per capita. So, the level
of urbanization has reached 32.8%. The city is furnished with
all necessary infrastructure facilities, such as the supply of
gas and heat, sewage treatment, and fire protection. The annual
water supply has reached 2.16 billion tons. The urban infrastructure
project of “four circuits around the city and five inner seas”
has been up to an advanced level domestically and internationally.
